Congregational Retreat 2008 in Review:
On May 2-4, 2008, a 100+ adults,
youth, and children enjoyed a wonderful weekend of spiritual renewal
and fellowship in the mountains of Montreat, NC.
Adults spent the morning exploring
with Todd the theme of "Here I Am!" and considered what things God
might be calling us to do and be in the world. At the same
time the youth present joined Ben, Cary Gluf, and Elaine Blackman on
a ropes course adventure at the YMCA Blue Ridge Assembly, and the
children joined Leslie, Susan Dunlap, and Dorina Tartar in learning
about the call of the boy Samuel.
Other
activities included a Saturday late afternoon Kentucky Derby Party,
hiking, shopping in Black Mountain, time on the playground, and lots
of fun and informal fellowship in the lobby of Assembly Inn.
the weekend was topped off with a Sunday morning worship service led
by Todd and Ben
